AmeriCorps: Getting things done!
AmeriCorps
The AmeriCorps program at VSA North Fourth Art Center takes national service to the local level. AmeriCorps members come from various backgrounds in the arts, all with the goal to contribute their artistic, passion, abilities, and knowledge to society by teaching and mentoring those who are conventionally ignored. As well, the AmeriCorps members search for and create opportunities for their students to be heard—maybe through an exhibition, radio broadcast, or public performance.
Therefore, as it is AmeriCorps’ national plan to “get things done for America,” the VSA AmeriCorps members strive to make one-on-one connections every day, seeking change and accomplishment by generating hope and facilitating compassion.
For more information about joining please visit the AmeriCorps website for information on the available programs and how to find a position. You may also contact VSA at (505) 345-2872.
