Okay...here is the challenge then! IF you are truly interested in wanting to see such things on the screen, it might be better if you started with a do-it-yourself attitude...'cause, I can tell you from experience, producers aren't gonna come up with these things themselves. I am a writer currently involved on a project on polio. But I had to force a producer to see where I was going...'cause the AB had nothing in his own head about these things. And certainly will not think that anything about a crips life is "fun" or can be interesting...aside from the usual... "Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, isn't that wonderful...he is my most memorable gimp" slant. God! How, truly, nausiating.

Well, let's see...wanna play with me?

I am currently doing an outline about a "family" of gimps who live together and face real life things [live, work, love, play]with a "well-adjusted" attitude about themselves and a slightly more than skewed perception of the AB world. Imagine...someone visually impaired, another hearing impaired, one who is in a chair, another who is an amputee, perhaps another who is CP, or another who is Downes...but all together in a mad [and I do see it as a farcical film] mix of characters who have adjusted to their own lives and blend in with others. Full of those "cruel cripple jokes" that only we can tell so well. With the edge...we can say things about us that others can't.

Perhaps the dramatic tension comes when an AB suddenly finds his/herself in the position of becoming one of the community. How do they react? How do the crips react? Hmmmmmmm.

If you are interested...write [email protected]....'cuase I can't seem to do it all myself.

I am serious...we can take something to a producer...if it is honest.
